There are some sweets that are always served during the new year holidays in Kanazawa.
One of these sweets, "Fuku-ume", white wafers filled with red bean paste. They are often made in the shape of the plum flower.
Another one is "Tsuji-ura", a Japanese fortune cookie made from a mix of sugar and glutinous rice. They are usually shaped as a flower or as a pentagon and stuffed with a message. The message is usually taken out of the cookie before consummation.
